The Department of Finance is looking for an

University Assistant with doctorate

(40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 6 years; position to be filled as of September 1st 2016 )

Job specification

  • Independent research and publishing activities
  • Participation in the planning and preparation of research proposals and collaboration in research tasks and projects of the department
  • Cooperation with national and international research institutions, and participation in national and international scientific conferences
  • Independent teaching and examination activities
  • (Co-)Supervision of bachelor and master theses
  • Participation in organisational and administrative tasks

Professional qualifications

  • Completion of a doctoral/Ph.D. programme in the field for the intended post
  • Excellent knowledge in the field of corporate finance, particularly investments (with special consideration of socially responsible investments, SRIs)
  • Teaching and research experiences
  • Very good IT and programming knowledge, preferably in R, Stata, EViews or MATLAB
  • Very good English

  • Communication and organisational skills and ability to work in teams
  • Pro-active behavior


Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary
The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3590.70 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
